DEVICE SETUP
Ledger Wallet setup and first checks
What should I check after installing Ledger Wallet?
Check the app name, version, operating system prompt, and device connection. Before sending, swapping, staking, or approving, review the address, network, amount, fee, and request type on the Ledger device screen.
Should I use Ledger Wallet on desktop or mobile?
Desktop is usually better for firmware updates, account management, and larger-screen review. Mobile is useful for checking balances, receiving assets, and handling routine actions when the device supports the connection method.
What does Ledger first-time setup include?
First-time setup usually includes powering on the device, setting a PIN, recording the recovery phrase offline, confirming the phrase on the device, installing apps, and adding accounts in Ledger Wallet.
CONNECTIONS
Device connection, balances, and transactions
Why is my Ledger device not connecting?
Check the USB cable, port, browser or app permissions, Bluetooth state, operating system version, Ledger Wallet version, and device firmware. Connection issues often come from charging-only cables, blocked permissions, or outdated software.
Why is my Ledger Wallet balance not showing?
A missing balance can come from the wrong account, wrong network, delayed indexing, unsupported tokens, or provider status. Check the account, asset, network, and a chain explorer before assuming that assets are gone.
Why is my Ledger transaction still pending?
A pending transaction is usually related to network congestion, fee level, nonce order, provider status, or the selected chain. Check the transaction hash on a chain explorer and confirm that the network matches the account used.
RECOVERY
Recovery phrase and signing checks
Where should I enter a Ledger recovery phrase?
A recovery phrase should not be typed into a website, browser extension, support chat, email, or ordinary app screen. It is used only in a device recovery flow that you have intentionally started and can verify on the device.
What should I do if someone asks for my recovery phrase?
Do not provide it. A recovery phrase, private key, seed, PIN, verification code, or remote-control access should not be shared through chat, forms, email, calls, or pop-ups. Pause the process and return to a verified source.
Why should I check the Ledger device screen?
The device screen shows the transaction details that the device is being asked to approve. Check the address, network, amount, fee, and approval scope there before signing, especially when a website or app displays different information.
ORDERS
Shipping, arrival checks, and returns
Why has my Ledger order not updated?
Order status can depend on payment confirmation, stock, warehouse processing, carrier scans, customs checks, and regional delivery schedules. Compare the order email with the carrier tracking record.
What should I check when a Ledger device arrives?
Check the package, accessories, device condition, and startup flow. A new device should not arrive with a prefilled recovery phrase, printed seed words, or instructions asking you to use an existing phrase.
What information helps with returns or order support?
Keep the order number, purchase channel, payment confirmation, shipping record, product condition, and photos when relevant. Return or warranty options depend on the seller, region, timing, and product state.
